FAQ`s
Quality Requirements and Tolerances:
Emblem marked products have to be manufactured by employing preliminary products made of high-quality fibre of new cotton fibre containing a cotton fibre content of 100%; with the exception of lining material, padding and accessories, and with admissible tolerances of 5% for decorative and ornamental effects and 3% for non-cotton fibre.
Fees:
No license fees! Exception: A single insignificant standard allowance of EUR 250.00 plus VAT for the licensing procedures of individual enterprises.
Duration:
5 Years.
Protected Geographical Scope:
The European Union (EU-27).
Applying the Emblem in Conjunction with Other Trade Brands:
Licensee is entitled to use the International Cotton Emblem on final products in conjunction with other manufacturer’s brands or trade brands.
Obligations of the Contractual Parties:
As Licenser, we shall employ all just and reasonable measures to maintain the legal status of the International Cotton Emblem as well as to strengthen its reputation and appreciation, and shall take action against any use of the mark which conflicts with the stipulations of the License Agreement with all means it deems appropriate. As Licensee, your enterprise shall be obligated to use the International Cotton Emblem only in its registered form for products whose fibre composition meets verifiably the quality requirements. All obligations of the Licenser and the Licensee are regulated in the Trademark License Agreement.
Application:
Advertisements, brochures, business papers, catalogues, circulars, internet shops, labels, mailings, packaging, etc; however, not as part of the company name.
Design and Colour:
The form of the emblem is of vital importance. Yet, the colour may vary, whereas a white cotton bud resembles most its original produce and facilitates brand recognition at first sight. After closing a Trademark License Agreement we will place the digitalised logo (black/white) at your disposal.
Licensing Procedures:
1. We ask you to send the duly completed application form to the Bremen Cotton Exchange by email or fax.
2. You will receive immediately two Trademark License Agreements for signing and our invoice concerning the small standard allowance.
3. After signing we ask you to return both Agreements to us and balance the account.
4. After settlement you will receive one Trademark License Agreement duly signed by us.
